Unveiling MGM’s Retirement Nation
An IFA is better than a life coach!
This wide-ranging new survey on Britain’s retirement prospects comes to one remarkable conclusion. Whatever your circumstances, you’ll be better off if you consult an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) – even if you have no savings.
The survey is an exclusive intergenerational study of more than 3,000 Britons in three key groups:
• people who are already retired (1,047 adults)
• people within 10 years of retirement (1,103)
• people more than 10 years from retirement (1,139)
All responses are broken down by age, gender, region (and key city), marital status, health status and the presence of, or exposure to, independent financial advice. The result is a robust and compelling portrait of the modern realities of retirement – and the state of financial planning for the post-career years.
The findings in the report are not simply about two dimensional ‘financial well-being’. MGM’s Retirement Nation builds a three-dimensional human story about hopes and dreams fulfilled, and regret and hardship avoided in retirement decisions.
